The material is very soft and stretchy, which means it shows your body exactly as you are.If you have flat belly, go for it; it will flatter you.But if you have something around your belly like me, I don't strongly recommend this dress as you will look really chubby...sigh.

When you read the magazines they advise that those of us shaped a bit like a surf board, should go for geometric patterns. I totally get why now - this dress makes me look like i have curves for days with this illusion/trick.

I'm almost embarrassed to say that I have FIVE of these dresses: solid black, solid red, two patterned black ones and one patterned red one. They are great for the office--just pop on a sweater if you need a more-conservative look. They also work for day-to-evening. They are so comfy and they can be dressed up or down, depending on jewelry and shoes. Word of advice: consider a bigger size. I'm mainly a size 8, often a 6 (such as with Banana Republic), but I have size Large in this dress. They are kind of clingy and a Medium was just too tight. Also a must: either spanx or a slip. Don't let panty lines wreck your silhouette.
